Confiction is fictions, only shorter, and written using Twitter. People find ways to use new technologies to write stories, and Twitter is one such technology. It lets writers tell tales with the chaff taken out and the wheat left: a handful of characters, a solitary sentence, a few choice words that say exactly what you want them to say. Each story on Confiction can use up to 132 characters to say what it has to – and it’s up to you how you use them.
Confiction is open to submissions from everyone, and you can do it through Twitter. Simply tag your tweet with #confic and your story will appear right here on the site. Follow us at Twitter.com/confic, and every day the site’s brightest and best fiction will get tweeted in your direction for your reading pleasure. Your tweet can take a few minutes to show up here on Confiction, so don't resend it – it will get here in the end!
This is about the writing. It's about you and your stories, and the perfect words to fill your 132 characters.

Confiction was conceived over instant-messaging, and was built with Sinatra. It was inspired visually by a long tradition of publishing conventions, intepreted for the web browser. The site uses Georgia as its primary typeface, with a smattering of Helvetica, and a dash of Mrs. Eaves sprinkled on top. Confiction first opened its doors in March of 2009.
James P. Smythe is a UK-based writer. His first novel, Hereditation, will be out in the summer of 2010. He's written factual books, computer game scripts, fictions and other bits and bobs. His blog can be found here, and his Twitter name is @whatevermort.
Jim Benton is a web developer and terrible Go player. He works from a sunny office on the north side of Chicago, where he crafts code for clients and side projects such as Indylist and Confiction. You can observe his aggregated internet activity, and he tweets occasionally as @automach.
Michael Gibson is the owner and creative director of Love Has No Logic Design Group. No matter where his travels take him, he always winds up back in Chicago, and the last time he traveled back he estimated that his music collection constituted 80% of his worldly possessions (by weight). You can find Mike twittering as @lovehasnologic.
