What Is XPSR-24?
XPSR-24 is the premier collection within RIFTSTORM’s Occultical Universe — think of it as your VIP access pass to the entire ecosystem. Each XPSR-24 asset features a detailed portrait of a covert operative from the universe, visually distinct through their uniforms, personalities and “stigmas.”

Art & Traits
What is the artistic style of XPSR-24?
The art style is our interpretation of Urban Neo-Expressionism, combining the emotional intensity of Neo-Expressionism with the rebellious, innovative spirit of Web3. This style expresses emotion, intent, and hidden meaning through bold, expressive brushstrokes, colors, and layered media techniques.
What is Stigma? Is it related to the graffiti in the art?
In the RIFTSTORM’s Occultical universe, “stigma” is the physical manifestation of mythic energy triggered by an operative’s exposure to Mythics, Rifts, or other Lythogrammic sources. Stigmas vary in severity, requiring different levels of response from the Mythic Protocol. In-universe, XPSR-24 initiative was created to track, contain, and study the effects of these Stigmas on operatives. To reflect the dark and subversive nature of the operatives spying on other operatives, the Stigma are visually expressed through expressive and exaggerated reductions of the Stigma’s mythic origins – a nod to the dehumanization and coping mechanisms that often arise in large monolithic organizations.
"The idea of the stigma being ‘drawn’ on the operative portraits is to show how these large monolithic organizations start to ‘remove the humanity’ of their own people. These operatives who in “doodling” or “labeling” their targets are effectively reducing their friends and peers to their most ‘dangerous’ or ‘notable’ features. As society becomes increasingly tribal in its labeling of ‘us’ vs. ‘them,’ there is both beauty and danger in these labels. The stigmas express this tension — the potential for people to become and to be more than the labels imposed on them.”
Why Urban Neo-Expressionism?
Inspired by the emotionally raw work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, our Neo-Expressionist approach is updated for the 21st century with an urban, occult-inspired twist. This style aligns perfectly with Occultical’s mysterious and layered narrative, capturing its themes of secrecy, conflict, and identity.
Our goal with XPSR-24’s art is to merge the “cool” and “modern” aesthetics of secret operatives with the inherent dangers of their existence. The expressive portrayal of Stigma serves as a powerful metaphor for the operatives’ struggles.
What are the different Status Traits in XPSR-24?
- Under Surveillance: Most XPSR-24 targets are under routine observation by XPSR-24 Watchers.
- Special Assignment: These operatives are reassigned for undisclosed tasks.
- MIA: Marked as “Missing in Action,” with unknown whereabouts.
- Sequestered: Removed from active duty and held in secure Mythic Protocol facilities.
- Rogues: Operatives acting independently and against protocol. They are hunted with extreme prejudice.
What are the Department Traits and what do they represent?
Each department plays a specialized role within the Mythic Protocol and its aligned organizations. Examples include:
- Conductor: Leaders of independent Mythic Protocol cells, tasked with unique missions and granted operational autonomy.
- Riftguard: Elite, heavily armored operatives assigned to close dangerous rifts and defend high-value assets.
The operatives’ fashion reflects their department, mission focus, and personal modifications, symbolizing their unique roles within the organization. For instance, combat-focused operatives might wear rugged, armored gear emphasizing utility and protection, while intelligence specialists could feature sleeker, tech-enhanced outfits that prioritize stealth and data gathering. These fashion choices visually communicate each operative’s identity, purpose, and the challenges they face in their missions. While these visual traits enhance the art’s depth, they remain aesthetic and are not reflected in metadata.
Utility Overview
The utility of XPSR-24 is centered around these core categories designed to provide long-term engagement and value within the RIFTSTORM universe.
Legacy, where each XPSR-24 asset is capable of recording key events tied to itself, such as transactions, staking activity, and quest-specific progress. This persistent record allows the asset to grow and evolve over time, enabling features like experience point (EXP) accumulation and level progression.
Access, which grants holders priority access to various elements in the RIFTSTORM ecosystem. This includes exclusive skins, early access to product launches, limited-edition merchandise, VIP status in the Portal, and priority participation in events organized by Confiction/RIFTSTORM.
Booster, where the asset enhances experiences across different platforms. In the game, XPSR-24 holders may emit beneficial auras that strengthen their party. In the Portal, they gain specific quest-related advantages. Within the broader ecosystem, assets linked to point-generating products receive enhanced yields or benefits.
Airdrop, providing holders with potential future benefits, including eligibility for asset distributions and whitelist opportunities for upcoming products. This begins with the generation of XPSR (Exposure) Points, distributed daily based on the XPSR-24’s level.
For next week (3rd week of December), the utility of Legacy and XPSR points will be launched. Other utilities will be implemented over time, and all is subject to platform terms and future ecosystem developments.
Level-Up System
Each XPSR-24 has a level and can be leveled up. Upon reaching level 5, its stigma will be visually unlocked, along with other benefits like daily XPSR Points.
Leveling up occurs through three main categories:
- HODL / Soft Staking: Holding XPSR generates daily EXP if it’s not listed or transferred. This EXP grows exponentially with a maximum streak of 120 days.
- Transactions: Every transaction generates EXP. Bonus EXP is awarded based on transaction value, such as surpassing the floor price or being among the top 10% transactions of the day.
- Quests: Asset holders can complete weekly/monthly quests that award additional EXP.
